Chitral, Aug 25, 2025: Under the “Drug-Free Chitral” initiative, the district administration of Lower Chitral has transferred 24 individuals struggling with drug addiction to Peshawar for rehabilitation.
Medical experts and professionals at the See Life Foundation Hospital in Peshawar are now supervising these individuals, and their recovery process is progressing successfully with promising results. The Lower Chitral district administration and the Department of Social Welfare launched the initiative under the KP government’s program and it has already produced remarkable achievements in its first phase.
The patients have shown encouraging progress during the detoxification stage, and their improvement clearly demonstrates that people can overcome the scourge of drug addiction when institutions provide proper guidance, resources, and consistent support.
In July this year, the district administration also sent another 24 drug addicts to Peshawar for rehabilitation, which further highlights its consistent commitment to tackling this social challenge with determination and long-term vision.
The rehabilitation initiative not only addresses physical treatment but also prioritizes psychological and social recovery, and it ensures that fully rehabilitated individuals reintegrate into society and lead productive, dignified, and meaningful lives.
This successful program marks a significant milestone in strengthening community welfare, promoting social responsibility, and building a healthier, drug-free Chitral.
Our society can only defeat drug addiction when we accept the responsibility collectively and act with unity and commitment!
