AYUN, Sept 25, 2025: A young man died last night after he fell into a deep gorge while returning home in Ayun from Kalash valley of Lower Chitral.
According to initial reports, Ihtisham, son of Afzal Baig, aged 28, a resident of Bokhtili, Ogdir, was returning to Ayun from Kalash Valley via the Atani Canal route when he slipped near the Dobash check post and fell hundreds of feet into the gorge.
Sources said that heavy rainfall made the terrain extremely slippery. Traveling at night, Ihtisham lost his footing on the slippery path and fell, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
After receiving information about the accident, Rescue 1122 teams and an ambulance reached the site, recovered the body from the gorge, and transported it to DHQ Hospital Chitral, where authorities conducted a postmortem before handing the body over to his family.
Family sources said that Ihtisham had gone to Kalash Valley for urgent work and was returning to Ayun when the accident occurred. The local police have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.–Muhkam Uddin Chitral Fast News reported.
