Booni, Sept 5, 2025: A seven-day “Hard-to-Reach” mobile outreach activity is currently underway in the tehsils of Mulkhow and Terich, Upper Chitral.
The campaign has deployed a total of four mobile outreach teams, with two teams operating in Mulkhow and two in Terich, dedicated to reaching children who have not yet been vaccinated. Thanks to the tireless efforts of these outreach teams, there has been significant progress in providing immunization services to previously unvaccinated children in remote and hard-to-access areas of Upper Chitral.
EPI Coordinator Dr. Wali Khan personally visited the mobile outreach teams operating in Terich to monitor their activities and review their overall performance. During his visit, TSV Terich Mr. Azmatullah provided a detailed briefing on the ongoing campaign, highlighting the achievements of the teams as well as the challenges they face in reaching remote households.
In addition to team visits, Dr. Wali Khan conducted house-to-house inspections, carefully reviewing children’s immunization cards and confirming that every eligible child receives the necessary vaccines. His visit emphasized the importance of ensuring complete vaccination coverage in all corners of the district.
The outreach activities were accompanied by Mr. Badrul Islam and Mr. Ehsan-ul-Haq Wafa, officers in charge at the District Health Office (DHO), who actively supported the monitoring and supervision process.
This initiative underlines the strong commitment of health authorities in Upper Chitral to protect children from preventable diseases, aiming to make the district free from polio, tuberculosis, rubella, and other vaccine-preventable illnesses. The ongoing campaign reflects a comprehensive approach to improving public health outcomes through targeted outreach, community engagement, and systematic follow-up.
