AYUN, Sept 3, 2025: Police inaugurated a newly-constructed office of the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) in Ayun, Lower Chitral on Wednesday.
The step is aimed at modernizing police infrastructure and facilitating citizens at their doorsteps.
Subdivisional Police Officer Bumburet Circle Ahmed Isa inaugurated the facility in the presence of DRC Chairman retired DSP Mohammad Sabir Khan, retired DSP Sultan Badshah, former chairman Zahiruddin, religious scholar Maulana Mohammad Amin and community representatives.
SDPO Ahmed Isa on the occasion explained the procedure of the Dispute Resolution Council and defined the responsibilities of its members. He said the appointment of community figures as members was a matter of pride.
He reminded them that they had received the honor of serving the people and resolving disputes through dialogue and fairness. He added that only individuals with integrity and commitment could perform such a selfless service.
He stressed that the DRC aimed to resolve disputes at the community level. The council, he said, would reduce the burden on courts and provide free justice to citizens. He added that the council would also strengthen trust in law enforcement and promote social harmony.
The SDPO instructed DRC members to provide justice without delay. He told them to decide cases on merit and ensure decisions reflected the mutual consent of both parties. He said fairness, transparency, and dedication were essential to achieve the core objective of the DRC.
