Lower Dir Police Crack Down on Illegal Afghan Residents

Timergara, August 31, 2025: The District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Dir has ordered a strict crackdown on illegal foreigners across the district, following the federal government’s decision to repatriate undocumented foreigners from the country.

In an official notification, the DPO instructed all SHOs, DSPs, and SDPOs to launch action on September 1, 2025, against foreign nationals living without valid Proof of Registration (PoR) or Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC).

Police will identify and arrest all aliens staying without legal documents. They will also verify PoR and ACC cardholders and reject expired or fake cards. The DPO directed officers to coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure strict enforcement of the policy. He warned that police would prosecute shopkeepers, contractors and transporters who support undocumented Afghans.

Officers will closely monitor business centers and residential areas where Afghan nationals live in large numbers. The DPO also warned police officials that he would take strict departmental action against any negligence. He urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and report illegal residents.

The crackdown forms part of the government’s nationwide campaign to regulate foreign residents, with special focus on border districts such as Lower Dir.
