Solar-Powered Water Project To Benefit 30 Households

Booni, Aug 28: A new solar-powered clean drinking water project in Sherjoli village of Shagram Union Council, Upper Chitral, is expected to benefit around 30 households.

The project has been launched under the direction of Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi as part of the WSS (Water Supply Scheme). It will provide safe, reliable and sustainable drinking water, said a statement from the PTI Upper Chitral.

The project addresses a long-standing shortage that affected residents for years. Local elders expressed their heartfelt gratitude. They said the project will solve a critical problem that had deprived the area of clean water for a long time.

Following her directives, the Deputy Speaker’s focal person and other officials inspected an irrigation channel Shotkhar. They met with local elders and community members. They assessed the current condition of the channel.

They also discussed measures for its repair and improvement of the channel. The officials assured residents that they would complete the irrigation project promptly.

This will ensure adequate water supply for both agricultural and domestic needs. The elders thanked Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi for allocating funds for the channel’s repair. They appreciated her continuous efforts to address the community’s developmental needs.

The delegation accompanying the Deputy Speaker included her focal person Afgan Raza, Tehsil President Torkhow/Mulkhow Minhajuddin, former Youth President Upper Chitral Masrafuddin and Wasif Ali.

They ensured close coordination with the local community. They also provided proper oversight of both the drinking water and irrigation projects.
