Chitral, July 7, 2026: The district administration has extended the ban on the entry of new rickshaws into Lower Chitral for another two months.
The administration reimposed Section 144, citing increasing traffic congestion and the need to improve road management.
According to an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Lower Chitral, the restriction has been re-enforced following the expiry of the previous order.
The decision was taken in light of recommendations made by the District Coordination Committee and the Traffic Management Committee to address growing traffic pressure, public inconvenience, and road safety concerns.
The administration warned that anyone found violating the order would face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other relevant laws.
The district administration urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and comply with the order to help reduce traffic congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow across the district.
