Dedicated legal team to pursue Sana Yousaf murder case: minister

ISLAMABAD, June 21, 2025: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar  visited the residence of Chitrali social media star Sana Yousaf, who was murdered in a shocking incident at her residence in G-13/1 sector of Islamabad on June 2.

\"SanaDuring the visit, the minister offered condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the government’s full support in ensuring justice.

Speaking to the media outside the house, Tarar condemned the brutal killing and stressed the need to make this case a \”test case\” for justice.

“The entire nation is mourning the tragic death of Sana Yousaf,” said the minister. “Prime Minister and the Interior Minister have taken strict notice of the incident and are committed to ensuring that the perpetrator receives the harshest possible punishment.”

He announced that a dedicated legal team would be formed to pursue the case until its logical conclusion.

Tarar also emphasized the need for responsible use of social media platforms, saying the misuse of online spaces must be discouraged.

“We must work together to create a safe environment for our daughters,” he said. “A national forum should be established to protect and empower young women.”

The visit comes amid growing calls for better protection of women and greater accountability for violence fueled by online harassment and misogyny.
