BOONI (CHITRAL): After interruptions by rain, the three-day Kaghlasht festival 2025 concluded after almost a week on Thursday (April 24).
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Culture and Tourism organized the annual cultural event at the scenic Kaghlasht plains in Upper Chitral, drawing thousands of local and foreign tourists.
Throughout the week, teams competed in football, cricket, volleyball, and traditional sports. On Sunday, Jughur Football Club defeated Lighor Football Club Hon in a thrilling final match to win the football championship.
Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral, Mr. Haseebur Rehman Khan Khalil, who was chief guest at the concluding ceremony, emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to promoting sports, calling it a powerful tool to engage young people, protect them from drugs, and support their mental and physical growth.
Later, trophies and prizes were distributed among the winning teams. Traditional music and cultural performances added vibrancy to the celebration.
The much-anticipated polo final will take place in the coming days.
