CHITRAL: A markhor kid that had become separated from its herd in the Lavi area of Lower Chitral and strayed into the residential area was rescued by a young man.
The young Markhor was found among a herd of domestic goats and safely rescued by Gohar Rehman. He kept it safe and later handed over the animal to the wildlife officials.
The wildlife team immediately took the animal into protective custody and transported it to a veterinary hospital for a medical examination. The markhor kid was found to be healthy and in good condition.
Following the medical assessment, the young markhor was released back into its natural habitat at the Toshi Shasha Community Managed Game Reserve.
The timely intervention by wildlife officials helped ensure the safe return of the animal to its natural environment.
