DROSH: Some shopkeepers in Drosh have begun voluntarily demolishing their shops and structures identified as encroachments, following government directives and notices issued by the local administration.
The shopkeepers have chosen to comply with the orders without resistance, hiring workers at their own expense to remove the structures themselves. Their cooperation has been welcomed as a positive example of civic responsibility and respect for the law.
The move comes as the administration steps up efforts to identify and remove encroachments in the town.
However, residents have stressed that the anti-encroachment operation should be transparent, fair and impartial. They have also called on the authorities to consider the financial difficulties and legal rights of small shopkeepers during the process.
Removing encroachments is important for improving public convenience, easing movement in markets and ensuring the rule of law. At the same time, maintaining fairness and public trust remains essential.
