Booni, April 17, 2026: The four-day anti-polio campaign in Upper Chitral has successfully concluded, achieving 97 percent of its target, according to the district administration.
A review meeting on the final “catch-up day” was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Imran Khan, with participation from relevant officials, including health authorities and representatives of partner organizations.
During the meeting, the district polio officer briefed participants on daily performance, stating that the campaign ended peacefully with no refusals reported.
The deputy commissioner appreciated the tireless efforts of frontline workers and acknowledged the support of all departments in ensuring the success of the campaign.
He expressed hope that the same commitment would continue in the future to help Upper Chitral maintain its status as a polio-free district.
