Sana Yousaf case, her mother in distress

“I Die Every Day, Yet Keep Living”, Says Sana’s Mother

Islamabad, April 10, 2026: Nearly a year after the murder of Islamabad-based Chitrali social media influencer Sana Yousaf, her mother says they are still waiting for justice, and during this time she has tried to commit suicide many times.

Sana was shot dead inside her home in Islamabad in June 2025, a shocking incident that triggered widespread outrage across the country. Despite the passage of time, the case has yet to reach a conclusion.

While speaking to the media, her mother expressed the depth of her grief and said that there came a time when she considered ending her life, but the memory of her daughter gave her the strength to carry on.

She said, “I die every day and live every day. I have tried to commit suicide many times. I cannot live without my daughter, but then I think no, I have to get justice for my daughter.”

She said that securing justice for her daughter is also necessary so that other girls can feel safe and say that nothing like this will happen to them, because if Sana receives justice, then they will too.

Sana Yousaf’s mother said, “She was my only daughter and she was very brave, and I used to be with her everywhere. It is about to be one year since my daughter’s murder, but I have not yet received justice. I only want that I get justice and that the accused is given the strictest punishment.”

In response to a question, she said that her daughter’s only fault was that she refused, which the accused could not tolerate, and he killed her in front of her eyes. It ma be mentioned here that the court has almost completed recording the statements of 31 witnesses in the murder case, including the parents of Sana Yousaf. The accused was arrested a day after the murder.

She said that the attitude of the courts towards her has been very good, but the accused has filed a petition in the High Court, due to which so much time has passed.
