Sports Festival Lights Up Drosh on Pakistan Day

Drosh, March 25, 2026: On the occasion of Pakistan Day, a vibrant one-day sports festival was organized in Drosh by Ideal Club in collaboration with Chitral Scouts 143 Wing, with enthusiastic participation from a large number of youth.
On this memorable occasion, the district administration specially invited children (boys and girls) from the IDP community of Arandu, which added to the charm and liveliness of the festival.
The event featured exciting competitions in football, tug of war, and Chitral’s traditional hockey, Gharsun Ghaar, which thoroughly entertained the spectators. The chief guest was Wing Commander 143 Wing Drosh, Colonel Hassan Abbas. Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Drosh Khalilullah, Lt. Ghulamullah, and local elders Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir and Shehzada Hisham ul Mulk.
In a thrilling local hockey match, Kesu Club defeated Dera Club to win the trophy, while in tug of war, Shah Eleven secured victory against Dera Club. The football match between Brothers Eleven Potoniandeh and Ideal Club ended in a 1–1 draw in regular time, with Brothers Eleven winning on penalty kicks.
At the closing ceremony, the chief guest, Colonel Hassan Abbas, distributed prizes among the players, while Chitral Scouts 143 Wing also awarded cash prizes to the participating teams.
Addressing the gathering, Colonel Hassan Abbas said that the Pakistan Armed Forces and the public share a strong and unbreakable bond, symbolizing national unity. He added that the armed forces and other security institutions remain ever vigilant in serving the country and the nation, and that the support of the public—especially the youth—further strengthens them. He reaffirmed that Chitral Scouts will continue to support positive youth activities, particularly sports, and that such events will continue to be organized in the future.
Earlier, in his welcome address, President of Ideal Club, Kamal Abdul Jamil, thanked Chitral Scouts 143 Wing, the district administration, local elders, and local police for their support in organizing this successful sports event. He noted that such programs play an important role in engaging youth in healthy and constructive activities.
