Pakistan Ready to Host US-Iran Parleys: PM

Islamabad, March 24, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan is ready to host parleys between the United States and Iran aimed at ending their ongoing war.

The Foreign Office confirmed that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts had facilitated movement toward dialogue, and the government considered it an honor to provide a venue for these high-stakes talks.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated that negotiations are vital for both regional and global peace.

“The stability of the Middle East, and indeed the world, depends on the mutual agreement of the United States and Iran,” he said. Pakistan will work to ensure that the discussions lead to a comprehensive resolution of the ongoing conflict.

Reports indicate that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance may travel to Islamabad to meet with an Iranian delegation. While official dates have not been confirmed, speculation about the timing and format of the talks is widespread among international media.

The US-Iran war had escalated over the past year due to territorial disputes, proxy conflicts, and disagreements over nuclear activities. Several rounds of indirect talks in the past have failed to produce lasting agreements. Pakistan’s offer to host the negotiations reflects its long-standing role as a neutral player in regional diplomacy and its interest in promoting stability in the Gulf and broader Middle East.

Analysts suggest that successful talks in Islamabad could reduce regional tensions, ease global oil market volatility, and prevent further escalation in conflicts where multiple countries are indirectly involved. It also positions Pakistan as a key diplomatic actor capable of bridging gaps between major powers.

Pakistan’s willingness to facilitate the dialogue has been welcomed internationally, with diplomats and experts highlighting the country’s experience in mediating complex regional disputes.
