Constitutional bench under Justice Amin formed
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Tuesday constituted a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to be headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
The decision was taken by the judicial council at a meeting chaired by the new Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi.
This was the first meeting of the judicial council after Justice Yahya Afridi became the chief justice of Pakistan after the 26th amendment.
According to media reports, the decision to form the constitutional bench with Justice Aminuddin was taken with a majority of 7:5 members of the Supreme Judicial Council.
Justice Aminuddin and Justice Ayesha Malik have been included in the constitutional bench from Punjab, Justice Musarat Hilali from Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi from Sindh and Justice Jamal Mandukhel and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan from Balochistan.
