A tribute to Chitral’s polio workers

BOONI: Polio workers of Chitral deserve appreciation and tributes for their work, as Chitral has been free from the crippling disease for over 30 years now.

On May 23, 2022, a polio vaccination drive was launched in Upper Chitral. During the campaign, these polio workers will visit door to door even in remote villages to administer drops to children.

These health workers have performed their work in harsh weather conditions and because of their commitment and cooperation by the local communities no polio case has emerged in Chitral for over three decades.
