District admin opens link road blocked by family
MASTUJ: A link road to about 80 houses in the Parkusap village near here was reopened by the district administration of Upper Chitral on Thursday.
In a statement, the administration said additional assistant commissioner Mastuj Muhammad Ali along with the SHO of Mastuj visited the village.
The family who had blocked the link road along with the affected people were listened to, after which the AC ordered reopening of the blocked road through the police.
Two members of the family were taken into custody and shifted to the police station for resisting the action by the administration, local people told ChitralToday.
They said the link road had been constructed in 1997 by the local community on a self-help vasis. It passed through the land of the family and connected their home too. But the family later wanted access roads to its scattered agricultural lands which could not be provided as there was no promise made when the road was constructed.
As a result, the family blocked the link road by placing stones on it a few months ago.
