Student seeks action against police for arresting him

PESHAWAR: A university student and his mother here called upon the chief minister and the inspector general of police KP to take action against the Mardan police for arresting him and torturing his mother without any reason. 

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, Ismail Khan, a resident of Mardan, said a few days back the police raided the house of his brother-in-law Masroor Khan on suspicion of his involvement in human smuggling. 

 “I was at my home at the time and after being informed about the raid rushed to the police station of Mardan city. When I reached the police station ASI Iftikhar and in-charge of the police station Arab Ali Khan arrested me without any charges.” 

The police also tortured my mother who is a diabetic patient.

“We demand justice from the chief minister and the police chief and action against the police,” he added.
