Tributes paid to two late mediapersons of Peshawar
PESHAWAR: To honour the memory and pay tributes to late veteran journalists Rahimullah Yousufzai and Dr Hafeez Sanaullah, a reference was organized at Peshawar Press Club by the Peshawar Press Club and the Khyber Union of Journalists (KUJ).
Federal minster for information Fawad Chaudhry was chief guest.
The reference was presided over by acting president of KUJ Mr Nasir Hussain.
President press club Mr Muhammad Riyaz and Daily Times resident editor Mr Zahid Khan also spoke.
The KUJ president spoke on late Rahimullah and Hafiz Sanaullah and their services in the field of journalism. They termed both outstanding writers, columnists who always wrote about common issues of the public and advocated the right of the common people.
Hafeez Sanaullah was commended for setting up the department of journalism and mass communication at the University of Peshawar and promoting objective journalism.
Minister Fawad Chaudhry in his concluding remarks said Rahimullah Yousufzai would always be remembered for his great contributions for journalism.
He said acknowledging and paying tributes to great personalities should be a regular feature.
