PIS service to Swat starts

PIA resumes operation to Swat after 17 years

SWAT: the government has reopened Saidu Sharif Airport, Swat, for commercial flights and after 17 years the national flag carrier (PIA) restored its flight operation to the airport on Friday. 

The first flight, PK-650, touched down at airport carrying selected passengers from Islamabad. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Federal Ministers Ghulam Sarwar and Murad Saeed were also onboard the inaugural flight.

Initially two flights in a week will be operated for Swat which would be connected with flights from Karachi and Lahore to Islamabad.
