BOONI: The district administration of Upper Chitral has formally approved the construction of a link road to Booni Gol and Qasiman Deh, local residents told ChitralToday.
On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Shah Saud and the executive engineer of the Communication and Works (C&W) Department, Tehsildar Mastuj Rab Nawaz Khan and the subdivisional officer (SDO) of the C&W department visited the project site.
They assured the local people that work on the project would be launched very soon as funds were to be provided to the PWD by MNA Molana Abdul Akbar.
The project, they added, would be completed in three phases. In the first phase, the road would be built from Shumasheli to Lot Dur, the second phase will cover from Khorandok Shumasheli to Sangalan Deh up to the last house of Qasimandeh.
In the third phase, a bridge will be built over Booni Gol to provide a link to Prasing, Chiandur and Bazandeh.
Meanwhile, at a meeting local people appreciated the approval of the road project.
The meeting was chaired by Al-Waiz Faramuz Khan. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shafi, the president of Golden Mahraka Society and Traders Union Booni Bazaar, expressed the hope that the government would launch the work on a priority a basis to facilitate the residents.
CHEPS Chairman Rehmat Ali on the occasion said due to the personal interest taken by MNA Molana Abdul Akbar, MPA Molana Hidayatur Rehman and the deputy commissioner, the longstanding dream of the people of Booni Gol to have a link road was going to be materialized very soon.
