School bus escapes major accident on broken road

BOONI: A bus carrying girl students from Booni to Kuragh escaped a major accident near Booni bridge at about 6am on Saturday.

As many as 60 girls were on board the bus when the road under one of its tyres caved in while descending on the slope towards the bridge.

The main and only link road of Booni, the headquarters of the new district of Upper Chitral, is giving the look of a ruin due to lack of maintenance.

Moreover, water from nearby agricultural fields continuously flow on the road, damaging it further but the administration is not taking any steps to repair the road.

The locals expressed concerns over the condition of the road and asked the district administration to repair it before any untoward incident.–Karim Ullah
