Tourists stranded on broken roads for hours
CHITRAL: Thousands of tourists thronged Chitral to spend the Eid holidays but most of them remained stranded on the narrow and dilapidated roads in different sub-valleys for hours.

Because of the snarl-up, local people also suffered a lot. The narrow and dilapidated road to Bumburate valley remained clogged with vehicles with tourists stuck in between Ayun and the Kalash valley.
In the Chitral town, due to lack of accommodation facilities, tourists were seen sleeping in streets and on roadsides and making arrangements to prepare food for themselves.
The PTI government in KP has been claiming for over five years to promote tourism but so far it has done almost nothing to provide facilities to the tourists.
The government even failed to repair and reconstruct roads from Chitral to Bumburate, Garam Chashma and Shandur and mega projects launched by the PML-N government were either shelved or put in the cold storage.
