Shandur festival will attract more tourists this year: official
PESHAWAR: The three-day Shandur polo festival will start on July 7.
The decision was taken at a meeting held with Secretary Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Museums, Culture and Youth Affairs Kamran Rehman in the chair on Thursday.
The secretary said this year the Shandur festival would be organized in a befitting manner to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
“This year, there will be more foreign and domestic tourists compared to the previous years as complete peace has been restored in the province and the condition of acquiring no-objection certificate (NOC) for the international tourists has been withdrawn,” he said.
Boarding and lodging facilities for both foreign and domestic tourists would be provided.
He said a great number of foreign tourists had recently visited Kalash valleys and enjoyed the Chilimjush festival.–APP
