Landowner accuses public health dept. of nepotism
CHITRAL: A resident of Raman village in Laspur valley has accused the public health engineering department of giving a Class IV job at a water tank built on his land to the relative of one of its employees.
Myna Gul here complained that the tank had been established on the land of Dandey tribe to which he also belonged for the supply of water to Phort and Phargam villages.
The department had entered into an agreement with the tribe that in return for the land the tribe would be given the job of a watchman etc., at the tank.
The members of the tribe have already asked the department in writing to give the job to my son Nyat Gul, he added.
But Mr Myna complained that an employee of the public health engineering department Chitral using his connections had managed to accommodate his brother-in-law Wor Gulab, son of Kabir Khan, on the post.
Mr Myna warned that if the job was not given to his son, he and his tribe members would dig out the water supply pipes laid in their land and throw them away and also demolish the water tank.
He said the department should review its decision immediately otherwise it would be held responsible for any untoward incident in the village.
