Upper Chitral district becomes functional
BOONI: Upper Chitral district has become functional after its first deputy commissioner, Shah Saud, took charge of his office on Wednesday.
Upon his arrival at the headquarters of the new district from Chitral town, people gathered to welcome him.
Speaking at the gathering, member tehsil council Sardar Hakim, member district council Rehmat Ghazi, district bar president Ghulam Mustafa and tehsil nazim Molana Muhammad Yousuf thanked the PTI government and Prime Minister Imran Khan for fulfilling the longstanding demand of the people by creating the district of Upper Chitral.
They assured the new deputy commissioner of their full support in running the management of the new district.
Speaking in the occasion, the deputy commissioner said he would like to work for the development of the remote and backward area by taking all the stakeholders on board.
He said he was highly impressed by the reception given to him by the people of Upper Chitral.–Karimullah
