Another food dept. official jailed for wheat theft
PESHAWAR: Special judge anti-corruption on Monday convicted a food grain inspector for embezzling huge quantity of wheat from government storage centres and sentenced him on two counts to nine years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs700,000.
Judge Ikhtiar Khan ruled that the prosecution had proved the allegations of criminal misconduct, misappropriation and embezzlement of wheat bags by the accused Samiullah Khan, a resident of Chitral, who was in-charge of different storage centres in Chitral.
The judge sentenced him to seven years imprisonment and fined him Rs500,000 under section 409 of PPC.
He was also sentenced under section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and was sentenced to two years imprisonment with a fine of Rs200,000.
Did the government recoverd the embezzled money from these government food department employees who stole from the food department or just this judge fined and punished them.
This is becoming a respectable tradition in Pakistan who loots government and public money, spend few years in jail and enjoy their life even in jail from the money who get from the corruption. Because every government employee is corrupt except college and school teachers.
The judges never get back money from the corrupt people.
