Booni set to host biggest public gathering against power crisis
WARIJUN: A large number of people at a meeting here vowed to force the government to ensure supply of electricity from Golen Gol to upper Chitral without further delay.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Haji Hussain to mobilize the public for the March 14th public gathering at Booni against the unending power crisis in upper Chitral.
The public gathering is being organized under the platform of Tehreek Huqooq-e-Awam.
Speakers at the meeting at Warijun said non-supply of power to upper Chitral on lame excuses by the government was an injustice with the local people.
The area is without power since 2015 when the only powerhouse in Reshun was washed away by floods.
Meanwhile, at another meeting presided over by Sardar Hakim in Booni, the participants called upon the people to attend the public gathering on March 14 in a large number to force the government to ensure an end to the power crisis.
