Three held in arms, ammunition theft case

CHITRAL: Police here on Tuesday said that three persons have been arrested in connection with the theft of arms and ammunition from an arms dealer’s shop in the local bazar.
On Jan 10 night, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were stolen from the shop located in New Bazar. The police said it registered a case against unknown thieves and started an investigation.
The police said three suspects identified as Saifuddin, son of Saifullah, Sajjad Alam and Jawad Alam, sons of Sardar Alam, residents of Sha Dok Chitral, have been arrested.
The police said that stolen items such as guns worth Rs737,000 have been recovered from the possession of the three men.
According to the police, the three suspects also confessed to their involvement in the theft in front of court.
