Protesters in Parwak ask govt to resolve power crisis
PARWAK: People of Parwak blocked the Chitral-Shandur road for hours in protest against prolonged power outages.
Speaking on the occasion, the residents of the area said on the one hand they were confined to their houses due to the biting cold weather and on the other the absence of electricity mainly due to a tussle between WAPDA and the provincial PEDO has made their life miserable.
The speakers came down hard on the local PTI leadership and the district nazim and others for their callous attitude towards the resolution of the longstanding issue.
They warned that if the issue was not resolved on a pririory basis, the people of the area including women and children would blocked the road again on Jan 8.
The ruling party leadership, the district administration, WAPDA and PEDO will be responsible for any untoward incident in case the public issue was not resolved, they added.–Karimullah
