Health dept told to ensure 100pc coverage in anti-measles drive

CHITRAL: Participants of a meeting here on Wednesday reviewed arrangements for the 12-day-long anti-measles campaign starting from Oct 15.

During the drive, children aged between nine months and five years would be vaccinated against measles in all the fixed health centers across the 24 union councils of Chitral as well as by mobile teams.

Deputy Commissioner Khurshid Alam Mahsud directed the officials concerned to ensure that no child was missed out during the drive and to ensure 100pc coverage an awareness campaign should be launched before Oct 15 though different media as well as from worship places.

MNA Molana Abdul Akbar said parents should ensure vaccination of their children against different diseases for their good health and should not give any importance to propaganda and rumours against any vaccine. –Nazir Hussain Shah
