CHITRAL: Returning Officer Mohammad Khan here on Tuesday rejected the nomination papers of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf for NA-1.
Musharraf out of race as nomination rejectedLast week, the Supreme Court (SC) had withdrawn its conditional directive allowing the former dictator to file nomination papers after he failed to appear for a court hearing.
Earlier, the apex court had said the former army chief’s nomination papers would be received by the returning officer but only be considered if Musharraf appeared in person at the SC Lahore registry.
With the rejection of Musharraf’s nominations, now his APML candidate Dr Amjad from Islamabad and Sultan Wazir are in the field. Sources told ChitralToday that Mr Amjad would contest for the NA seat and Sultan Wazir for the PK-1 for which he has also filed the nomination papers.

  3. After Next five years he will be over eighty, so he is no more.what about his party, atleast he could represent army retired officers and it was a hope for army,s future.

  4. He should announce to quit politics now. The slogan of his party is “Pakistan First”(“sub sey pehley Pakistan”) but his inability to return to Pakistan morally disqualifies him to be called Pakistan’s leader. He can either dissolve the party or hand it over to a young blood and himself relax in Dubai and London.
