I’m MMA candidate for NA-1: Abdul Akbar
CHITRAL: Former MNA and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali on Wednesday said the provincial chief of his party Mushtaq Ghani has confirmed to him on phone from Peshawar that he (Maulana Chitrali) is the MMA candidate for NA-1 Chitral.
He said that on the direction of the JI provincial chief, he would be filing his nomination papers in Chitral on Thursday. He said his supporters should not pay heed to rumours that he had obtained nomination papers for the provincial assembly seat of PK-1 Chitral.
He said he was already the candidate of the MMA and there had been no change in it and the JI KP chief had confirmed it again.
He said the provincial Shura of JI had directed Maghfirat Shah to concentrate on his work as the district nazim of Chitral instead of trying to take part in the national elections. He said he would file his nomination papers for NA-1 with the returning officer on Thursday. –Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
