Construction of first primary school begins in remote village

This was stated by Bibi Fouzia, the parliamentary secretary for tourism KP, while speaking at the inauguration of work on a primary school at the Gos village of Drosh on Wednesday. The government has sanctioned Rs3.75 million for the setting up of the primary school in the area. Ms Fouzia said the provincial government also established the new tehils of Drosh and Mulkhow while the notification for the new district of Upper Chitral was ready and would be issued as soon as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) lifts the ban imposed on alteration of the revenue limits of districts across the country. Other speakers, including Aminur Rehman Chughtai, Nisar Ahmed, Farooq Ali Shah, Abdul Aziz and Haji Gul Nawaz, said even though Ms Fouzia had reached the assembly on a reserved seat for women she broke the records of all the developments projects launched in Chitral during the last 70 years. About 50 people from different families also announced their decisions to join the PTI on the occasion. In their welcome address, the elders of the area drew the attention of the MPA towards an acute shortage of water and the need for the construction of the only road to the area. They also demanded the establishment of a playground. The MPA promised to do her utmost to resolve the local issues. The Gos village is located in the east of Drosh among rugged mountains. As there are no educational institutions, children from the area have to travel on foot through the difficult terrains to the Drosh town and other area to pursue education.
