Scores of shops, school gutted in two separate fire incidents

DROSH: Scores of shops, a house and a school were gutted in separate fire incidents here.

The first fire erupted at around 3:30am in the Kabari cloth market of old Bazaar of Drosh. The flames engulfed 26 Kabari shops and 23 mechanical workshop, including welders and electrical shops.

A house consisting of two rooms was also damaged in the incident. A fielder, a Corolla car, jeep and a motorcycle were also gutted in the blaze. The cause of the fire couldn’t be ascertained. No human casualties occurred except minor injuries to three persons, including a fire extinguisher.

Fire brigades were called from the civil administration and Chitral Scouts. Colonel Chitral Scouts, ADC, DDMO, AAC Drosh and Chitral and the head of Aga Khan Habitat reached the spot and with their efforts the flames were put oout.

Meanwhile, in another incident of fire at Afaq Public School Denin at around 5am two rooms were damaged. Water bowser  and firefighters from Chitral Scouts reached the spot DDMO Chitral also reached at the site and the fire was brought under control. No casualties occurred in the incident.
