Zupu bridge repaired at last

CHITRAL: On repeated public demands and after a delay of many years, the only bridge to upper Yarkhun valley near Zupu village was at last repaired the other day.

“Talking notice of a public complaint and in order to mitigate the sufferings of commuters Deputy Commissioner Chitral Irshad Sodhar directed the C&W Department to immediately repair the Zupu Bridge. The bridge has been repaired and opened for traffic,” said the DC office.
The ramshackle wooden suspension bridge had never been repaired since its construction in 1993. Even during the much trumpeted reconstruction of the Mastuj to Broghil road in 2013 costing millions of rupees no repair work was carried out on this bridge.
