First woman district social welfare officer takes charge

Talking to this scribe Ms Jabeen said in her childhood she wanted to become a doctor and serve the humanity but unfortunately there was no science teacher in her school in Chitral due to which she could not opted for the science subjects. She did her BSc from Home Economics College Peshawar and Master in Social Work from Peshawar University in 1998. She started working as the Social Welfare Officer at the DHQ Hospital Chitral in 2003. Earlier that she served with the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) for three years. After 18th Amendment to the Constitution most of the federal government departments were devolved to the KP province and hence her services were also placed at the disposal of the provincial government. After resuming her duty as the District Social Welfare Officer Ms Jabeen said all loopholes would be plugged and the present system would be streamlined and strengthened in order to serve the people of Chitral in a better way.]]>
