Rs12.7 million released for Arandu road project

 CHITRAL: An amount of Rs12.7 million has been released for the Arandu road project.

In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Chitral Scouts headquarters in which Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Nizam Uddin Shah was the chief guest.

Col Shah handed over the cheque to Javed Khan, the representative of Amir Muqam Company. The road is being built with the cooperation of PATRIP-SRSP.

Project Manager SRSP Chitral, Engineer Khadim Ullah was also present on the occasion. It may be noted that work on the project was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 17 Division Maj-General Javed Mehmood Bukhari in March 2015.

Under the project, the 14.5 kilometers track from Arandu to Arandu Gol would be reconstructed and widened while a 5.5 kilometers new road would also be constructed up to the Mashadam village.

Speaking at the cheque handing-over ceremony, the commandant of Chitral Scouts hailed the services of SRSP Chitral in improving the infrastructure of the mountainous valley.

He said with the construction of the road, the remote valley of Arandu would see a new era of development and prosperity.
