Nursing training centre to be set up in Chitral

BOONI, Aug 25: Commander 45 engineering division of the army Maj Gen Akhtar Jameel Rao during his three-day stay in Chitral also visited the under-construction vocational training centre in Booni.
He was accompanied by brigade commander Brig Najmul Islam and Col Chaudhry Karamatullah and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Gen Rao said high literacy rate among the women of Chitral was a good omen for the development and prosperity of the area and the nation.
He said the establishment of the first vocational training centre for the women of the area would be catalyst in opening new opportunities for the women.
Gen Rao also announced to set up a nursing training centre in Chitral in collaboration with the DHQ hospital which will cost Rs506 million and where at least 200 students will get training each year.
He also said that a number of clean drinking water supply schemes would also be launched in different parts of the valley.
He also directed the contractor of the training centre to complete and hand over the building to the KP government by December.–Nazir Hussain
