Engineering student commits suicide; woman found dead

CHITRAL, April 24: A diploma civil engineering final-year student committed suicide in the Parwak village of upper Chitral.

Reports said that Essa Zeshan, 22, son of Essa Ali, shot himself dead over some domestic issues. It has been learnt that the victim had also tried to kill himself in the recent past by jumping into the river.

After he shot himself with a 12-bore gun, he was being taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital in Booni when he died on the way.–Waqar Ahmed In another incident, a young woman was found dead in Naghar village in the jurisdiction of the Drosh police.

Police said Naeema Bibi, wife of Jamshed Alam, was found dead in her room. The woman’s brother Fakhruddin complained to the Drosh police that Jamshed had murdered his wife. The police have registered a murder case against the suspect.

The police also said that knife stab wounds were found on the body of the woman. The woman’s body was buried in her ancestral village of Beori village.–Jahan Zeb Rahi
