College admin decides to withdraw cases against students

CHITRAL, April 1: The administration of Government College Chitral has decided to withdraw cases registered against a number of students for holding protests a few days back. It may be noted that the college had not allowed some students to sit in exams for failing to meet the criterion of 60 per cent attendance. The decision angered the students of the college who held a protest rally which blocked the road at Ataliq bazaar. The police registered FIRs against the students and arrested them. ANP Chitral women wing president Khadija Sadar played the key role in resolving the matter and on Monday she held a meeting with the principal of the college Prof Karimullah and other faculty members. After the meeting, the college administration forgave the students and said they would withdraw the police cases against the students.–Nazir Hussain]]>
