29 policemen from Chitral trained to counter terrorism
MINGORA, March 30: As many as 29 police personnel from Chitral were imparted sub-conventional warfare training by the Pakistan Army to enable them to counter any terrorist attack.
The three-week training was held at the army’s counterterrorism centre at Kharian. Besides the 30 policemen from Chitral, 33 officials each from Swat, Lower Dir and 30 from Upper Dir and 29 completed their training on March 29. The concluding ceremony of the training was held at the CTC where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar was the chief guest. The police demonstrated a mock exercise to counter terrorist attacks.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Malakand division Abdullah Khan said the police officials should implement the techniques in professional life and also assist their colleagues.
