Engagement ceremony of Mehtar-e-Chitral held

ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: For all the inhabitants of the former princely state of Chitral, there is good news.

Shahzada Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir, the young and recently-crowned Mehtar of Chitral, has been engaged to a daughter of the noble family of the Pakela valley in Hazara on this day of 16th February, 2014, says a press release.

On this occasion, we would like to congratulate the royal family and the whole nation of Chitral.

The engagement ceremony held in Islamabad early Sunday was attended by members of the royal family and a large number of notables from Chitral and other parts of the country. Today history seems to be repeating itself.

There was a time when Mehtar Sir Nasirul Mulk, the benefactor of Chitral, gave the hands of one of his daughters to Nawabzada Saeed, the Nawab of Amb state. Today the young and highly educated new Mehtar of Chitral, Shahzada Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir, has been engaged to the daughter of the same distinguished family in the former Amb state.

The engagement ceremony was attended by Nawabzada Salahuddin of Amb, Commissioner Hazara Nawabzada Jehandir, Lt-Gen (r) Khalid Mahmood, Shahzada Sirajul Mulk, Brig (r) Dr Shujaul Mulk, Col Shareef, MNA Shahzada Iftikharuddin, Shahzada Amanur Rehman, Shahzada Khalid Pervez, Shahzada Dr Sardarul Mulk, Shahzada Ziauddin, Dr Fazle Qayyum and others.
