Candidates in trouble to send application forms for teachers' posts
CHITRAL, Jan 15: Candidates for the posts of teachers in Chitral are running from pillar to post unable to send their application forms to the National Testing Service (NTS) Islamabad as the last date approaches fast. An interaction with a number of candidates and visits to the local bazaar by ChitralToday correspondent on Wednesday showed that all the postal services like the Pakistan Post and private courier services had refused to entertain the candidates saying that due to the closure of roads and suspension of the PIA services they would not be able to deliver the applications to the NTS in Islamabad by January 20, which was the last date for the submission of the applications. The Lowari tunnel opens twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays. Taking advantage of the situation, private individuals, including owners of photo copy machines and bookshops have started taking 400 to 500 rupees from each candidate promising that they would deliver the applications in Islamabad personally before the due dates of Jan 20. As a result, a rush was seen in different points in the Chitral bazaar. It may be noted that the KPK government has announced to fill over 100 posts of teachers in different cadres like PTC, CT, DM etc. As many as 58 posts have been announced for male and 52 posts for female candidates in Chitral. Due to the phenomenal increase in unemployment and the prolonged ban on new recruitments in government departments, thousands of highly educated youths have already applied for the posts.]]>
