Students warn legal action against principal

DROSH, May 29: Three students have announced their decision to move the court of law against the principal of the Regional Institute for Teacher Training (RITE), Drosh. In a statement sent to ChitralToday (chitraltoday,net), Jahan Zeb Khan, Nasiruddin and Amir Ejad, D.M. (drawing master) cadre students at the college, said that the principal of the institute, Mr Nazimuddin, was not allowing them to sit in the exam due to personal enmity. They said like other students they always attended the classes regularly and followed the college rules and regulations but the principal was hell-bent on depriving them of their right to education by not allowing them to appear in the exam on the pretext of short attendance. On the other hand, they alleged, during the last a couple of years many students had got the DM degrees while doing jobs and without completing the mandatory attendance which was 85 percent. The students called upon the district education officer and the authorities of the Higher Education Commission to take notice of the matter and save their academic career. When ChitralToday tried to contact the principal of the RITE, Mr Nazimuddin, on his mobile phone to know his version on the allegation of the students, he did not take the call. An SMS was also sent on his cell phone but he did not respond to it either.]]>
