Spring youth festival ends

CHITRAL, March 28: The spring youth festival concluded here on Thursday evening with the final match of football which was won by Denin team by one goal. Arranged by District Youth Forum with the financial assistance of youth development project of Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, thousands of youth from across the district participated in different games which included volleyball, marathon race and tug-of-war. Addressing the concluding ceremony, deputy commissioner Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir eulogised the organisers. He enumerated the measures taken by the district administration during the last two years for the promotion of sports and said that land for a sports stadium was being acquired and work on the project would be inaugurated shortly. Later, prizes were distributed by renowned social worker Shahzada Amanur Rahman among the winners which included Awi team (volleyball) and Singur (tug-of-war) while Kaleemullah won the first prize in marathon race. — Zahiruddin]]>

  1. It seems AKRSP has no work except arranging tournaments and Mushairas. Even Prince Karim Aga Khan was not happy with its achievement examined by him in 2003. Using resources in meaningless and futile projects has become the culture of the AKRSP officials due to which the organization is fast losing its credibility.The leadership does not have potential to achieve the objectives for which the AKRSP was establsihed.
