MQM comes to upper Chitral
BOONI (Upper Chitral), March 16: As general elections are approaching fast and politicians are girding their loins to go to the voters again, young men mostly returned from Karachi have also started campaigning in Upper Chitral under the banner of Karachi-based Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Talking to chitraltoday.net, Syed Nasiruddin Pirzada, the chairman of the MQM Upper Chitral organizing committee, said in October 2012 central leaders of the MQM came to Booni and formally launched the party here. He said 500 people had so far registered themselves as members of the MQM Upper Chitral. He claimed that the youth of the area were upbeat about joining the party and working for the betterment of the area as its residents were fed up with the traditional politics of old parties whose leaders come during elections with tall claims and high promises but disappear after winning the elections. He said they were in constant touch with the MQM leadership at 90 in Karachi. He said the MQM working under the dynamic leadership of Altaf Bhai would change the life of the people of this remote and backward area.

The MQM activist said that his party would be taking an active part in the forthcoming elections from the PK-90 provincial seat of upper Chitral. Very soon, we will also arrange a public party in Booni and show our strength in the area, he added. He said he and other activists of the MQM were trying to convey the message of the MQM in each and every household. Political observers are of the view that the MQM phenomenon would not be able to catch the attention of the youth of teh area as majority of them are inclined towards the pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf of Imran Khan. Secondly, they added, there was no known figure to lead the MQM in the area where votes are cast mostly through ethnic and regional affiliations. Money also plays a role for which the MQM may not be forthcoming to spend in an area like Upper Chitral, where the propects of its success was uncertain.]]>
MQM is the only political party of Pakistan which represents and comprises working, middle class and poor masses of the country who are presently downtrodden, disadvantaged and exploited by the two percent ruling elite.
MQM has revolutionized politics in Pakistan and its elected representatives and office bearers are chosen by ordinary party workers and people on merit not by virtue of being born in a feudal family or political dynasty.
The prevalent feudal system of Pakistan is the main obstacle in the progress of the country and the prosperity of its people. Due to this obsolete system a genuine democracy could not establish in the country and the people of Pakistan could not get their due rights, social justice, equal opportunities, rule of law and real participation in the affairs of the state.
MQM is struggling to abolish this obsolete system in order to establish a truly democratic, progressive and egalitarian society in the country where all citizens have equal rights irrespective of their colour, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, belief and religion.
MQM believes in Realism and Practicalism as enunciated by Mr. Altaf Hussain, the founding leader of the party. MQM is against all types of terrorism, religious extremism and struggling for religious harmony.
MQM Upper Chitral says it welcomes positive criticism. My question is how it will deal with a negative one?? Young men are always carried out by fictitious couplets of the bygone days, but I am sure the people of Chitral are mature enough to read between the lines. It seems these returnees from Karachi have nothing else to do and I would be happy and would love to attend their Booni jalsa if they gather even a hundred people there. Altaf Bhai should address the big jalsa on the phone from London. Go ahead and show your strength.
We Welcome positive criticism, Our Moto is:
Soltani e jamhoor ka ata hai zamana,
Jo Naqsh e kohan tum ko Nazar aye Mitado.
I don’t think “Bhai” politics works in a peaceful area like Chitral because neither you can hijack election staff during voting nor steal ballot boxes or give threats to voters to kidnap their children. So, please don’t waste your time in Chitral everyone knows your politics and statements of your London-based leader about Shandur. He has declared it a part of Gilgit-Baltistan.
MQM UPPER CHITRAL says “Our mission is to convey Altaf Bhai’s message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood to the people of Chitral”. I say, you have done that enough in Karachi. There are roses of love and bouquets of flowers all over Karachi smelling of peace, tolerance and brotherhood. Please spare Chitral.
We should welcome the MQM if it is launched from anywhere in Chitral. Heaping all sorts of criticism on the party is unjustified. Especially the people of Chitral should be indebted to the MQM as most of the educated lots of Chitral have come from Karachi. During the brutal ethnic killings between the Mohajirs and Pathans in Karachi, no Chitrali was ever harmed. Now when some of the Chitrali youths want to support the MQM and work for it in their area there should be no sweeping statements against them. We always claim and are proud of our culture of hospitality and tolerance and peace, but I fear that with these harsh and unfriendly comments we are not sending out good image of our Chitral. Rest assured that the MQM is not gonna arriving with all its might and making any problem for us. We should learn to live in peace with all and promote tolerance towards others. If the MQM is not good, we should defeat it politically.
Change we need.
The so-called Chitrali messengers inspired by the ideology of their self-exiled leader must be reigned in before it is too late. The guys who have landed in upepr Chitral under the pretext of a membership drive for the MQM would disturb the peaceful environment of the valley. The young guys who had nothing else to do are actually trying to emulate their MQM friends in karachi for a civilized society like Chitral has no room. My advice to Chitralis who are associated with MQM is that they must concentrate on their studies and dedicating the couplets sung by Shams-e-Akbar of Lon will not work. This madness is very shortlived, so do not waste your time.
There is no space in the MQM for Firqa Parast, Qowm Parast, Bureaucrats Parast and Pakhti Leage.
@MQM UPPER CHITRAL: You better covey the message of your Altaf bhayi in Karachi first as the city needs his love whatever. The people of Chitral do not need his love, we are capable enough to love ourselves. Better concentrate where there your mouth is.
Our mission is to convey Altaf Bhai’s message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood to the people of Chitral. We don’t care about any baseless allegation against the MQM.
No room for terrorists in a peaceful area like Chitral.
What was Karachi before MQM and what is it now? Hope people of Chitral learn a lesson and keep this scourge at bay.
Awa Imam e Mohabat Palem Nafrato Pologhan,
Awa Kora Ki Baghatam Hate Zhaga Mohabat Boy.
Oh my God my head starts aching while going through this verse. We all see your message for love in Karachi which has been turned into a graveyard after this political party came into existence. This is for sure that peaceful environmental of Chitral will be no different than Karachi if these so-called MQM jiyals were allowed in Chitral. The main purpose of these sector-in-charge of MQM is to establish their monopoly in Chitral which is not possible. This party is the root-cause of lawlessness in Karachi and it will be disastrous for Chitral and Chitralis. The only thing which inspires these handful of MQM activists is hooliganism for which you have no room in Chitral. If anybody with a nefarious motive comes to the valley, it should be taken to task without wasting any moment.
