Chitral Police Solve Burglary Case, Stolen Valuables Recovered

Chitral, July 8, 2026: Lower Chitral Police have solved a major burglary case, arresting the prime suspect and recovering stolen cash, gold jewellery and other valuables worth Rs3.729 million.

District Police Officer (DPO) Resham Jahangir said on Wednesday told a press conference that the burglary took place at a house in Zargarandeh on June 25.

Following the incident, a case was registered at City Police Station and a special investigation team was formed to trace the suspect.

She said investigators used scientific investigation techniques, CCTV footage from the command and control system, technical evidence and human intelligence to track the suspect’s movements.

The main suspect, Raqeeb Gul, son of Javed Gul and a resident of Rehankot, was subsequently arrested.

Police recovered the stolen cash, gold ornaments and other valuables on the suspect’s identification. The recovered property, valued at Rs3.729 million, will be returned to its rightful owners after completion of legal formalities.

The DPO said Lower Chitral Police remained committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and would continue taking indiscriminate action against criminals.

She added that there was no place for lawbreakers in the district and strict legal action would continue against those involved in criminal activities.
