Chitral, April 2, 2026: A ceremony was held at the District Social Welfare Office Lower Chitral for the distribution of assistive devices among persons with disabilities.
District Social Welfare Officer Khizar Hayat, along with other officials and participants, attended the event.
Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azeem was chief guest on the occasion.
The assistive devices distributed among deserving and registered individuals included sewing machines, wheelchairs, hearing aids, tricycles, white canes, crutches and walkers.
Addressing the gathering, the deputy commissioner stated that the welfare of persons with disabilities was a shared social responsibility. He said the provincial government was taking effective steps to support their rehabilitation, independence, and improvement in quality of life.
He added that the assistive devices were being distributed transparently among registered applicants.
